Finding Connor Deegan
This is a very interesting video on YouTube about a child with behavioural difficulties and allergies. The eventual integrated approach to treatment changed his life. He was diagnosed with ADHD ( Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder) and this was attributed, in part at least, to his obstructed airway. A maxillary development appliance played an important role in his overall treatment.

British School of Osteopathy, London. Refresher Course, 7 September 2014
Eleven registered Osteopaths attended my presentation which was entitled “The Effect of Jaw Problems on the Rest of the Body”.The programme was in the usual format starting with a 10 minute video made by Dr Brendan Stack demonstrating how a dental appliance can be used to treat movement disorders (Tourettes etc). This was followed by a Power Point slideshow demonstrating the link between crooked teeth, airway, posture, cranial strains, etc.
A table demonstration followed showing models, appliances and literature. A second Power Point slideshow “The Orthodontic/ Osteopathy Connection” completed the talk. This covered early recognition of developing crowding and the various approaches to treatment. The Damon System, Myobraces, Orthotropics and other Dento-Facial Orthopaedic appliances were discussed
A copy of the new Cranio UK journal was donated for the BSO library. Several delegates requested digital copies to be sent by email. The new version has come about as a result of the merging of the British Society for the Study of Cranio-Mandibukar Disorders with the Cranio Group. The current website will be updated by the end of the year – www.jawache.com
